We source our coffee beans from a farmer that is paid a fair price, allowing the farmer to invest in healthcare, continuing education for sustainable farming practices, and community development. We direct trade, ethically sourced, single-origin, special high grown (SHG) arabica coffee from a 5th generation coffee grower.
The coffee beans are grown between 3600’ and 4600’ elevation under a shade canopy, on 143-acres located in Matagalpa, Nicaragua.
This region is known in the coffee growing industry as the “Gold Zone”.
The coffee beans develop slower resulting in a denser high-quality coffee bean.
Quality control starts with coffee trees that have been meticulously cared for, for generations.
The process starts with the hand picking of the highest quality and largest beans.
The beans are then washed, fermented, and sun-dried on large patios.
After drying, the final membrane is removed, revealing the “Gold Coffee” beans.
The dried beans are then sized by machine, to ensure that consistency and quality is maintained.
We control the quality and processing of our coffee from tree to cup. We roast on the world's most innovative and energy-efficient machines, Loring Smartroasters, which has reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 80%, compared to conventional roasters. Loring smart control systems greatly facilitate the task of consistently achieving the desired roasting profile each batch. The roasted coffee beans have complex cupping notes dependent on the roast profile that you select. Flavor-wise you can expect Red Apple, Caramel, Cherry, and Chocolate, which are natural flavors that the coffee beans develop from being grown at high altitudes.
